Born in 1988 at the sacred Menji Drakgoen Goenpa in Kurtoe, Lhuentse, Trelku Rinpoche (Lamala Sonam Tobgay) was raised within one of Bhutan's most revered spiritual families. As the son of Yup Kezang Wangdi and Yum Yeshey Choden, and the grandson of the esteemed Drubwang Pema Wangchuk Rinpoche, he inherits a distinguished lineage deeply rooted in the Pemalingpa tradition. Recognized at the age of three as the reincarnation of Lam Tshewang Rinzin, his life reflects an unbroken legacy of Buddhist wisdom, meditation, and compassionate service that continues to preserve and strengthen Bhutan's sacred spiritual heritage.
